A travertine arrival sequence in Downtown Beirut, drawn in stone, brushed bronze and points of light.

The entrance and lobby of a residential building in Downtown Beirut. Reception, stair approach and lift lobby are treated as a single travertine volume, with a fluted reception desk, a sculptural feature wall and a scattered light installation carried across the ceiling.

Design concept

The thinking

Arrival as composition. Vein-cut travertine wraps floor, walls and ceiling; a torn-edge wall of mirror and bronze is outlined in concealed neon, while suspended droplets of light fall over the reception and lift doors to give the address its signature.

Material palette

  • Vein-cut travertine
  • Brushed bronze
  • Warm mirror
  • Fluted stone
  • Point lighting

In closing

A restrained, luminous entrance that sets the tone before a single door opens.
